The Foggy Future – University Dreams and Uncertain Finances

If I’m being completely honest, there’s a big, hazy cloud hanging over my head right now, and it’s shaped like a graduation cap. Xavy is only twelve, but those years fly by, don’t they? My biggest uncertainty, the thing that keeps me up at night sometimes, is his future education. Will I be financially able to send him to a good university? The cost of everything just keeps going up, and while I work hard, the thought of affording tuition fees, accommodation, and everything else feels daunting.

I try not to dwell on it too much. I focus on the present, on making sure he has what he needs now, on instilling in him the value of hard work and education. My sister sends a little something when she can, which helps immensely, and my friends always offer encouraging words. But the big question mark of his university years still looms. I just have to keep working, keep saving, and hope that somehow, we’ll figure it out when the time comes. Maybe there’s a scholarship out there with his name on it!
